Big FM has announced the appointment of Ashit Kukian as its Chief Executive Officer, effective December 1, 2025, marking his return to the radio industry after exiting his role as CEO of Music Broadcast Limited (Radio City) earlier this year.
Kukian previously helmed Radio City from September 2018 to August 2025, during which he guided the company through a rapidly shifting audio landscape. His tenure focused on elevating content quality, widening listener engagement, and strengthening the brand’s foothold across key markets.
A media veteran with more than 30 years of experience, Kukian has contributed across radio, television, print, and outdoor advertising. Before becoming the CEO of Radio City, he held leadership roles at iTV Network between May 2017 and August 2018, overseeing operations and revenue as COO–NewsX and CRO–Non News.
From November 2015 to May 2017, he served as President–Revenue at Times Network, driving growth initiatives across its portfolio. Prior to that, he spent a decade at Radio City (2005–2015) as President and COO, where he played a pivotal role in scaling the organisation and shaping its programming and operational roadmap during its expansion.
Kukian began his career at Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. (The Times of India), spending nearly 13 years as Regional Head (1992–2005), where he supported the development of regional markets, revenue strategy, and multimedia initiatives. His contributions also extended to the digital front, including the advancement of RadioCity.in, integrating radio with digital engagement.
Known for his balanced approach to performance, creativity, and team-building, Kukian has consistently been recognised for leading cross-functional teams and aligning business strategy with long-term organisational goals.
His move to Big FM places him back in a dynamic audio ecosystem that continues to evolve through digital-first listening habits, hyperlocal content, and emerging monetisation models.
