WPP Media has announced the appointment of Vinish Mathews as Head of Team Fulcrum, South Asia, a strategic leadership move aimed at enhancing client-centric growth and media innovation across the region.
With more than 22 years of experience in media, marketing, and client leadership, Vinish brings extensive cross-border expertise spanning India, China, and Southeast Asia. His career journey includes working across diverse sectors such as FMCG, technology, fintech, tourism, e-commerce, consumer durables, and automotive.
Before joining WPP Media in this role, Vinish served as Chief Strategy Officer at Mindshare India, where he drove strategic solutions and delivered innovation across major client portfolios. He has also held senior leadership positions managing the Google relationship at Media Futures Group in India and Southeast Asia, and led high-impact campaigns for global brands during his tenure with Mindshare China.
Vinish is deeply familiar with Team Fulcrum. In an earlier stint, he played a key role in strategic media planning for Unilever India’s Personal Care portfolio, managing more than 30 iconic brands including Dove, Lux, Axe, Ponds, Vaseline, TRESemmé, Lakmé, Ayush, and Clinic Plus. He was also part of the core team that secured Unilever India’s digital media mandate in 2018, while extending support to Unilever Pakistan by introducing global media best practices.
Earlier in his career, Vinish worked at The Media Edge (Rediffusion Y&R) as Associate Media Director and at The New Indian Express as Senior Account Executive, building the foundation for his career in media strategy and client leadership.

As Head of Team Fulcrum, South Asia, Vinish will lead strategic initiatives, strengthen advertiser portfolios, and accelerate media innovation across one of WPP’s most dynamic client ecosystems.
