Ipsos, the global leader in market research and insights, has announced the appointment of Suresh Ramalingam as the Chief Executive Officer for Ipsos India, effective immediately. He takes over from Amit Adarkar, who steps down after a successful decade at the helm of the company’s Indian operations.
Adarkar’s tenure saw Ipsos India emerge as one of the company’s top five priority markets globally, marked by sustained growth, strategic transformation, and industry leadership. As he transitions into a new chapter focused on personal pursuits, including writing—following the launch of his debut book Non-Linear—Adarkar leaves behind a robust foundation for continued success.
“India has been one of Ipsos’ top five priority markets globally, and it’s been an incredibly fulfilling experience leading such a dynamic and high-growth market. As I look ahead to new challenges, I am confident that the team will continue to thrive under Ramalingam’s leadership. He brings the right blend of global experience, client focus, and vision to take Ipsos India to the next level.”
Ramalingam steps into the India CEO role from his most recent position as Chief Client Officer for APEC at Ipsos, where he led commercial strategy and key client relationships across the region. Since joining Ipsos in 2018 as CEO for Southeast Asia, he has overseen operations across markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, operating from Kuala Lumpur.
Prior to Ipsos, Ramalingam spent over two decades at Nielsen (now NIQ) in senior leadership roles across the Middle East, Africa, Greater China, South Asia, LATAM, and Eastern Europe. He brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of market complexity, cultural nuance, and emerging market dynamics, having worked and lived in India, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Cyprus, and the UAE.
In his new role, Ramalingam will be responsible for accelerating Ipsos India’s growth trajectory, driving client-centric innovations, and expanding the company’s portfolio with a focus on technology-enabled research solutions.
“India has achieved remarkable progress under Adarkar’s leadership,” said Ramalingam. “My focus will be on building upon this strong foundation—driving innovation, deepening client partnerships, and fostering a high-performing, collaborative work culture. With several new launches in the pipeline, we are well-positioned to help clients achieve their ambitious goals in an evolving business environment.”
“Ramalingam is a proven leader with a track record of delivering results across complex and diverse markets. Under his stewardship, we are confident that Ipsos India will continue to be a key growth engine and set new benchmarks for the region.”
With this transition, Ipsos reaffirms its commitment to India as a strategic market and continues its journey to deliver cutting-edge research, data-driven insights, and actionable strategies to help businesses succeed.
