Effective August 1, 2025, Gillette India, the company behind renowned brands such as Gillette, Venus, and Oral-B, has announced the appointment of Kapil Sharma as its new Vice President and Category Head – Grooming.
With over 20 years of experience, Sharma has been a part of Procter & Gamble (P&G) since 2001. Over the years, he has held diverse roles across the United States, Asia Pacific, India, and the Middle East, contributing to key areas including digital commerce, brand strategy, go-to-market execution, and global sales development.
He succeeds Abhishek Desai, who has been elevated to a regional leadership position overseeing Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, and will now be based in Dubai. Desai, a P&G veteran with an 18-year tenure, has worked across India, Korea, ASEAN, Australia, and China. During his time leading Gillette India’s grooming division, he played a pivotal role in driving record-breaking growth, achieving double-digit expansion and market leadership in the blades and razors segment.
Speaking about his new role, Kapil Sharma said
