EaseMyTrip Appoints Rikant Pittie as CEO

EaseMyTrip, a leading online travel tech platform, has appointed Rikant Pittie as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately. The announcement came after a board meeting on January 1, 2025, marking a significant leadership transition at the company.

Rikant, a co-founder and core promoter of EaseMyTrip, previously served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Director. With nearly 15 years of experience in the travel, tourism, HR, and technology sectors, Rikant brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role as CEO, overseeing the company’s strategic vision and growth.

This move follows the resignation of his brother, Nishant Pitti, who stepped down from the CEO position citing personal reasons. In his resignation letter, Nishant expressed his gratitude for his time with the company and requested to be relieved of his duties. Media reports suggest Nishant may sell his remaining 14.21% stake in EaseMyTrip, estimated at around ₹780 crore through a block deal.

As CEO, Rikant is set to focus on innovation, expanding the company’s footprint, and further enhancing the customer experience in the competitive travel tech space. “The travel industry is evolving rapidly, driven by technology and personalization. At EaseMyTrip, we aim to set new benchmarks in the travel experience, empowering travelers around the world,” said Pittie in his first statement as CEO.

Beyond EaseMyTrip, Rikant holds a prominent leadership role as Vice Chairman of the CII Delhi State Council for the 2024-2025 period, showcasing his influence in the broader business ecosystem.

EaseMyTrip is also diversifying its operations. In a major development, the company announced an investment of ₹200 crore through its subsidiary, Easy Green Mobility, to venture into electric vehicle manufacturing, further emphasizing the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.

With Rikant Pittie at the helm, EaseMyTrip is poised for continued growth and a strong presence in the global travel and tech landscape.
