Sanjeev Jasani, one of the key pillars behind Cheil, i.e. Samsung’s in-house ad agency and a strong believer in Cheil’s expertise being relevant for other brands apart from the master brand with Cheil X, is stepping down after nearly a decade. Jasani joined Cheil in June 2015 as Chief Digital Officer and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) in January 2020, replacing Atika Malik. Leading the agency’s operations in the Southwest Asia region, he played a key role in its transition to a digital-first company. Jasani is currently serving his notice period, he will continue to work as COO – India and Southwest Asia at Cheil till December 2024.
In June 2015, Jasani became Chief Digital Officer of India and SWA at Cheil. He was in charge of overseeing Samsung India’s digital division, generating quantifiable growth, and positioning Cheil India as a pioneer in digital marketing by creating and leading high-achieving digital teams and bringing “Digital” into all agency disciplines, shifting its orientation from vertical to horizontal.
In January 2020, Jasani was promoted to Chief Operating Officer-India and South West Asia, where he oversaw the agency’s complete digital transformation, fostered a data-driven culture, and assembled specialized teams to produce results that led the industry.
Jasani is an experienced professional with more than 25 years of experience in the advertising field. He was Senior Vice President at OgilvyOne Worldwide for 14 years before joining Cheil in 2015 as Chief Digital Officer. He played a key role in guiding the business’s transition from an offline customer relationship management (CRM) agency to a fully functional online business. Additionally, he previously held executive roles at Contract Advertising and JWT.
