With a blend of humor and passion, Dilpreet highlights the challenges, victories, and exciting future that lies ahead for her and her team.

Congratulations on completing three successful years! What are some of the key achievements and milestones that stand out to you from this journey?

Firstly, thank you for your wishes. Honestly, these three years have flown by in a blink. We started with 30 clients as a small setup, and today we’ve achieved over 200% growth. It brings us immense joy to have built a successful production house in such a short time. Some of our key milestones include establishing The Yellow Shutter in Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi, along with extending our team of partners to over 11 cities across India. We’re now expanding further by collaborating with international partners for our upcoming shoots.

We’re incredibly grateful for the past three years, as they’ve given us the opportunity to work with some of the top brands. Our journey has only just begun.

Over the past year, The Yellow Shutter has experienced a 200% increase in content development. Which factors do you think led to this outstanding growth?

Like anyone in the digital space, we aim to keep up with the times, cater to the ever-changing needs of our brands and build a holistic space for creating all forms of content. Over the last year, we vigorously explored vertical content creation, producing on-the-go reels for our brands that align with online trends.

The content space needs flexibility and a young team like ours is always on the lookout for matching the needs of the time and then some. We reached out to our clients with budget-friendly solutions and leveraged the growing potential of iPhone content to deliver exactly what the brand needed. We kept our thinking hats on to address the increasing demand for quick, fresh content, focusing on brand awareness, engagement, and, most importantly, performance marketing.

The Yellow Shutter provides a variety of services, including the production of long-and short-form content, jingles, and advertisement films. How do you keep your portfolio so broad and innovative while maintaining quality?

Advertising as a space is not restricted so why should we be? The idea of creating The Yellow Shutter was not to cater to only one type of advertising need. The leaders of The Yellow Shutter all come from marketing backgrounds and have seen different shifts in the digital space over the years. By nature, we are explorers, and we mold our services to the overall requirement of all forms of content in advertising.

Taking a look back at The Yellow Shutter over the last three years, what have been some of the major events or turning points?

An organization is the result of the team behind it. Every time a new member joined us, it was a milestone in itself.

Additionally, all the “firsts” were exhilarating—the first big ad film we made, the first major event shoot we landed, the first reel that went viral, the first time we shot outside of India, the first concept that got approved, our very first celebrity shoots, and so much more.

In retrospect, every step and its celebration shaped who we are today and who we will be tomorrow. However, major milestones are never complete without some heartbreak and failure. But we remain focused on winning the war, even if we lose a few battles along the way.

What are your plans for The Yellow Shutter over the upcoming year? Do you intend to explore any new markets or services?

Our current focus is on expanding our content studio while continuing to offer all our existing services. We’re also actively growing in the area of audio production with our studio, DECIBELS, and exploring the world of AI. Exciting times are ahead.

Vertical content is at its peak, and the team at TYS is ready to tackle this space with fresh ideas from all our creative thinkers. This year, our vision is to give old-school approaches a creative twist—whether it’s trending video content, employer branding, corporate films, testimonials, music videos, vertical ad films, or performance marketing content. We’re committed to owning the content space and being a catalyst for brand growth.

We say, bring it on!

Behind every successful project is a story. Can you share a BTS moment from one of your projects whether it was a challenge you overcame or any funny moment?

Behind all our projects, there are some hilarious stories! We’re quite good at keeping ourselves and those around us entertained. I can’t even begin to recount all the moments, but they often end up in our phone galleries and WhatsApp groups.

One story that stands out is from an event shoot across India. Four of us started our journey from Mumbai and Bangalore, heading to Kolkata, then Guwahati, and beyond. Our flight took off but ended up landing back in Kolkata while we slept, completely unaware. We woke up to the news of another airplane tragedy that occurred at the exact same time we were in the air. When the plane finally attempted the journey again, the four of us—now stuck on the plane for about five hours—had never been more scared for our lives than we were that day.
