In a strategic move to strengthen its presence in India’s fast-evolving e-commerce and digital ecosystem, WPP Media has announced the appointment of Sairam Ranganathan as Head of Commerce for India. This key leadership hire reflects the agency’s commitment to driving commerce-led innovation in one of the world’s most dynamic digital markets.

With a career spanning over a decade in digital strategy, media leadership, and integrated marketing, Ranganathan brings deep expertise and a strong track record in scaling digital commerce solutions for leading brands across sectors including telecom, FMCG, BFSI, tech, and e-commerce.
Before this appointment, he served as Chief Digital Officer at Wavemaker and Wavemaker NorthStar from October 2023 to July 2025. Previously, he was National Head – Digital Services at Wavemaker India from January 2021 to September 2023, where he played a crucial role in shaping data-driven media solutions for key clients.
Ranganathan also held senior roles at Mindshare Fulcrum as Vice President – Head of Client Leadership from December 2018 to December 2020. He began his journey with Wavemaker India as General Manager for the Vodafone account in 2018 and earlier served as Head of Digital (Paid, Owned, Earned Media) – West from 2013 to 2017.
Over the years, he has contributed significantly across leading media agencies such as Maxus Global and Mindshare, helping brands navigate the shift to digital commerce and omnichannel strategies.
This appointment positions WPP Media India to further strengthen its commerce capabilities, helping brands drive growth across performance, marketplaces, D2C platforms, and retail media.
