WOO Seoul Regional Forum: Regulation and Automation Take Centre Stage

Regulation and Automation will be key topics at the forthcoming World Out of Home Organization Regional Forum in Seoul, South Korea. The Forum is being held from November 5-7.

Dr Kai-Marcus Thäsler, Managing Director of the German OOH association FAW e.V. will look at the impact the developing regulatory framework is having on the global media industry, in particular OOH.

Such regulation is developing at different speeds in different territories but common to all is the need to anticipate what comes next and use this to create opportunities as well as deal with challenges.

Thäsler is a WOO board member with a special brief to keep members up to date with regulation and its many implications.

Automation is changing the global OOH world as major campaigns need to run across the world in real time. Annie Rickard, Managing Partner of global advisory business OOH Capital and the former Chair and Global President of dentsu’s Posterscope, will chair an expert panel on automation and its implications for OOH globally and in the APAC region

The panel will look at lessons to be learned from the growth of automation to date and how well the programmatic promise is being realised in APAC?

WOO CMO Richard Saturley says: “Regulation and Automation are increasingly the nuts and bolts of OOH worldwide. Regulation affects everybody in the industry and is likely to become even more of a priority.

“Automation is the real driving force of digital OOH in particular as it competes with other digital-based media. We are very fortunate to have two such acknowledged industry experts to guide Seoul delegates through these important and complex areas.”
