Mumbai, India – August 2025 – Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi), one of India’s leading telecom operators, today announced the appointment of Abhijit Kishore as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP), effective 19 August 2025. Kishore succeeds Akshaya Moondra, who concludes his three-year tenure as CEO on 18 August 2025.
The Board of Directors of Vodafone Idea Limited, following recommendations from its Nomination & Remuneration Committee, approved Kishore’s appointment in a meeting held on Wednesday. His term as CEO will extend for three years, until 18 August 2028.
The transition ensures a seamless handover within the company’s leadership structure, reinforcing Vodafone Idea’s commitment to business continuity and strategic growth.
Kishore, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Vodafone Idea, brings nearly a decade of leadership experience within the company, having joined in March 2015.
As Chief Enterprise Business Officer, he successfully led the company’s Enterprise division.
He also served as Circle Business Head for Gujarat and Kerala, where he played a key role in launching India’s first 4G network.
With a career spanning over 27 years in the Indian telecom industry, Kishore has held multiple leadership roles across circle operations and corporate strategy.
An alumnus of Delhi University and FORE School of Management, Delhi, Kishore has also completed Senior Leadership Programmes at IIM Ahmedabad and London Business School, strengthening his expertise in business transformation and growth.
Akshaya Moondra, who was appointed CEO in August 2022, concludes his tenure after steering Vodafone Idea through a crucial three-year period. His leadership has been instrumental in driving operational strategies and strengthening the company’s market position.
The company confirmed that the leadership change was carried out in compliance with Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, with necessary filings submitted to both the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) and BSE Limited.
