Vishal Chinchankar has stepped down from his role as Chief Executive Officer at Madison Digital and Madison Alpha, according to internal sources. He had been leading the digital arm of Madison World since May 2017.
With over 25 years of experience across Indian and international markets, Chinchankar is a well-known name in the marketing and advertising world. His career spans leadership roles in both startups and large organisations, with expertise in business strategy, digital transformation, and operations management.
Before joining Madison, Chinchankar held key positions at Mindshare Interaction for India and Singapore, and led digital initiatives at Reliance ADAG as VP – Digital Media & Head of VAS for DTH. He also served as CEO of WPP’s martech agency Prodigi and was the digital head at MEC India.
His departure comes at a time of broader change within Madison World. Sources suggest that the group may be in advanced talks to sell a 70% stake, with major global networks and private equity players in the mix. There’s also been a recent shift in key accounts, including McDonald’s India (South & West) moving its media mandate to Starcom India, ending a long-standing partnership with Madison. Similarly, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) recently awarded its media business to Essencemediacom following a multi-month pitch process.
Chinchankar’s exit marks the end of a significant chapter in Madison’s digital journey, and the industry will be watching closely to see what’s next—for both him and the agency.
