Uday Desai has stepped down from his role as Managing Director of dentsu Creative Malaysia, with December 31, 2025 marking his final day at the agency.
Desai joined dentsu Creative Malaysia in January 2025 and spent the year focused on expanding the agency’s creative capabilities and strengthening its positioning in the Malaysian market. He brings with him more than 20 years of experience across APAC, MENA, and India, having worked extensively on building brands and driving integrated marketing solutions across diverse cultural and business environments.
Before his tenure in Malaysia, Desai served as an Integrated Client Partner at dentsu Vietnam. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership roles at prominent global agency networks such as Hakuhodo First Bangkok, BBDO Thailand, Publicis One, and Y&R, where he led integrated brand and marketing mandates for several high-profile clients.
Earlier in his professional journey, Desai worked with organisations including Amber Communications, Digikore Designs Ltd, and NRK Exports Pvt Ltd. He began his career in 2001 as an Assistant Merchandiser at NRK Exports Pvt Ltd, later transitioning into marketing and communications roles and steadily moving into leadership positions.
Known for combining strategic thinking with creative execution, Desai has built expertise across brand management, integrated marketing, project leadership, business development, and creative strategy. He is expected to announce his next professional move after a brief transition period.
