Shubhranshu Singh steps down as CMO of Tata Motors’ commercial vehicles arm

Shubhranshu Singh has stepped down from his role at Tata Motors, closing out a four-year chapter that redefined the brand’s commercial vehicles business. “It has been a privilege to build the brand marketing function from scratch,” Singh shared in a conversation with Storyboard18.

Under his leadership, Tata Motors’ CV division underwent a bold brand repositioning and launched the widely acclaimed “Better Always” campaign. He championed the company’s entry into electric cargo vehicles with the Ace EV and AcePro EV, introduced Salesforce CRM for sharper customer engagement, and embedded research-led marketing practices across the business.

Singh also drove a remarkable digital push—taking more than 25% of vehicle sales online in a traditionally dealership-driven market. His initiatives included a large-scale influencer program with over 700 creators and growing Tata Motors’ YouTube presence to over one million subscribers.

A marketer with roots at Unilever, Singh’s career has spanned leadership roles at Royal Enfield, Star TV Sports, Visa, and Diageo. Recently named among Forbes’ World’s Most Influential CMOs for 2025, he hints at exciting opportunities ahead, though his next move remains under wraps.
