Shashidhar Sharma Exits WPP Media After Five-Year Stint

Shashidhar Sharma has moved on from WPP Media, concluding a five-year association where he most recently held the role of Head – Programmatic and Ad Operations. His departure marks the end of a significant chapter with the organisation, where he played a key role in strengthening programmatic and ad operations capabilities.

Sharma shared news of his exit via LinkedIn, describing his time at WPP Media as professionally rewarding and expressing gratitude to the teams and colleagues he collaborated with over the years. He also indicated that he intends to take a brief break before announcing his next career move.

Based in India, Sharma was associated with WPP Media (earlier GroupM) from January 2021 to January 2026, spending over five years leading programmatic and ad operations functions.

Prior to joining WPP Media, he worked with FCB Global in Auckland, New Zealand, as Director – Programmatic between July 2019 and May 2020. He also held a short stint at Omnicom Media Group’s PHD Media in Auckland as Director – Programmatic from March 2019 to June 2019.

Earlier in his career, Sharma served as Associate Director – Programmatic at OMD India from May 2018 to February 2019. He also spent over seven years at Google in Hyderabad, where he progressed to the role of Operations Lead between March 2015 and May 2018, after earlier working in digital marketing roles.

Sharma began his professional journey at Morgensegen Technologies (P) Ltd, where he worked as Senior Associate – Technical Support from August 2006 to October 2010, handling end-user support for a global technology client.
