Titan Company Limited has announced the appointment of Sandhya Venugopal Sharma, IAS, as Chairperson and Additional Director on its Board, following a nomination from Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDCO), one of the company’s co-promoters.
The Board approved the appointment through a circular resolution dated December 29, 2025, with the requisite majority. As per regulatory disclosures, the appointment will come into effect from January 4, 2026.
Sharma will take over as Chairperson from the outgoing incumbent, who will continue to remain on Titan’s Board as a Director. She has been appointed as a Non-Executive, Non-Independent Additional Director and will be subject to retirement by rotation.
A 1995-batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, Sharma brings extensive experience across public administration, industrial development, education, finance, and science administration. Prior to her current role at TIDCO, she was on central deputation with the Department of Space, serving as Joint Secretary and later Additional Secretary in Bengaluru between April 2019 and October 2025, where she contributed to key national initiatives in space and science.
Earlier, she played a pivotal role as State Project Director for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan during her deputation to the Government of Karnataka, overseeing one of the country’s largest education programmes supported by the Central and State Governments, along with global agencies such as the World Bank, DFID, and UNICEF.
Her career also includes several senior assignments within the Tamil Nadu government, including Commissioner (Archives and Historical Research), roles across departments such as Commercial Taxes and Education, service with the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, and district-level postings in Chengalpattu and Tindivanam.
Titan Company further clarified that Sharma is not related to any Director, Key Managerial Personnel, or Promoters of the company, and that she is not barred by SEBI or any other authority from accessing capital markets or holding directorships in listed entities.
