Reliance and Meta Announce ₹855 Crore AI Venture to Accelerate Enterprise Innovation in India

In a landmark move toward advancing India’s digital future, Reliance Industries Limited and Meta Platforms have announced a joint venture worth ₹855 crore, aimed at driving innovation in enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) solutions across India and select global markets.

The newly formed entity, Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited (REIL), will function as a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Intelligence Limited, with Reliance holding a 70% stake and Meta’s Facebook Overseas Holdings owning the remaining 30%. According to the latest stock exchange filing, the venture requires no additional regulatory approvals.

REIL will focus on developing, marketing, and distributing enterprise-ready AI products and services, designed to empower businesses across industries with scalable, open-source, and sovereign AI capabilities.

This strategic collaboration brings together Reliance’s extensive multi-sector expertise and Meta’s global AI leadership to create a robust ecosystem of Made-in-India AI solutions. It reinforces the nation’s growing push for self-reliant digital innovation, aligning with India’s broader Digital India vision and commitment to developing indigenous technology infrastructure.

India’s emergence as the world’s second-largest internet market offers fertile ground for AI-led transformation. Through this partnership, both companies aim to democratize access to advanced AI tools, enabling enterprises of all sizes to adopt data-driven decision-making and automation with greater efficiency.

The venture also complements Reliance’s ongoing collaboration with Google, which focuses on building AI-driven cloud infrastructure starting with a new data centre in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Together, these efforts underline Reliance’s strategic intent to position India as a global hub for AI innovation and digital transformation.
