Mobility major Rapido has officially entered the online food delivery space with the launch of its standalone app, Ownly, now available across Bengaluru. The move marks the company’s strategic diversification beyond ride-hailing, introducing a zero-commission model designed to bring greater fairness and transparency to food ordering.
Over the years, digital food delivery has reshaped how Indians discover and consume meals. However, rising platform commissions, hidden charges, and inflated menu pricing have increasingly drawn criticism from both customers and restaurants. Ownly aims to address these concerns with a straightforward pricing structure — it does not charge restaurants any commission and instead applies a transparent delivery fee to customers, strictly covering logistics costs.
By eliminating commission fees, the platform enables restaurants to maintain consistent, everyday pricing without relying on complex discounting tactics or layered service charges.
To support the launch, the brand has unveiled a satirical film set in a courtroom, highlighting common frustrations such as hidden platform fees, exaggerated menu prices, and confusing discount structures. Using humor and dramatization, the campaign underscores the brand’s “food promise” — a commitment to honesty, trust, and simplicity in food delivery.

Ownly’s Bengaluru expansion follows a pilot launch across Koramangala, HSR Layout, and BTM Layout, where the company tested its model and gathered consumer insights. Over the past year, the platform has collaborated closely with restaurant partners to better understand operational challenges and pricing pressures.
