P&G India Announces Leadership Transition As Maitreyi Jagannathan Steps Down; Tushar Gupta To Head Health Care Division

Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care (P&G India) has announced a key leadership change within its Health Care division. Maitreyi Jagannathan, Category Leader – Health Care, will step down from her role effective December 31, 2025, as she moves on to explore opportunities outside the organisation.

In her resignation note, Jagannathan expressed appreciation for the support she received during her time at the company.
She wrote, “I wish to inform that I will be resigning from my role at P&G India, effective December 31, 2025, to pursue other interests outside the company. I am deeply grateful to the P&G India leadership team for their support during my tenure as a member of the leadership team. I wish P&G India continued success in all its endeavours.”

P&G has appointed Tushar Gupta to take over the mandate starting January 1, 2026. A long-time P&G leader, Gupta brings extensive experience in healthcare and brand building. An alumnus of IIM Calcutta with an engineering background from Manipal Institute of Technology, he has held several strategic roles across India and APAC.

Gupta began his journey at P&G India as Brand Manager for Vicks, contributing to strong brand growth and sustained performance. He later moved to Singapore, where he led design and brand strategy across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Currently, he serves as Senior Director overseeing brand design and communication for Vicks and Zzzquil in the APAC region.

Throughout his career, Gupta has focused on elevating communication frameworks, enhancing media and digital quality, strengthening packaging, and driving innovation grounded in consumer insights. In his new responsibility, he will aim to further accelerate P&G India’s Health Care portfolio while balancing business outcomes with consumer health priorities.

The leadership transition was also communicated through official filings to the BSE and NSE.

Ghanashyam Hegde, Executive Director & Company Secretary at P&G India, expressed appreciation for Jagannathan’s contributions and welcomed Gupta into the role, stating the company “thanks Ms. Jagannathan for her contributions and wishes her well in her future endeavours.”

This development underscores P&G India’s continued focus on strengthening leadership and driving long-term growth within its healthcare category.
