 
          The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) has officially announced the appointment of Sunil J. Singhi as an Independent Director to its Board, further strengthening its leadership as it accelerates efforts to democratize digital commerce in India.
Sunil J. Singhi brings decades of experience in trade leadership, public welfare, and policymaking. He is currently serving as the Chairman of the National Traders’ Welfare Board and has previously held key roles such as Vice Chairman of Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation and Chairman of the Gujarat Labour Welfare Board. Under his leadership, various initiatives have benefited over 50,000 businesses and industries across sectors.
Singhi’s broad governance experience includes serving as Director at FCI Aravali Gypsum and Minerals India Limited, and he also made history as the first Jain representative on the National Commission for Minorities, Government of India. His work has consistently supported small traders, informal sector workers, and community development, focusing on education, skills, employment, and welfare delivery in underserved regions.
ONDC’s mission to create an inclusive digital commerce ecosystem aligns with Singhi’s deep understanding of regional trade dynamics and his advocacy for grassroots stakeholders. His addition to the Board is expected to further empower ONDC’s efforts in bridging the gap between urban and rural commerce through technology and community-driven strategies.
