Niva Bupa Introduces Insurance Academy To Upskill 1 Million Advisors And Boost Last-Mile Insurance Awareness

New Delhi, 28 November 2025: Niva Bupa Health Insurance today announced the launch of the Niva Bupa Insurance Academy, a one-of-its-kind learning and development initiative aimed at empowering and upskilling its advisor community across India. The Academy will equip over 1 million advisors with advanced knowledge, customer engagement skills, and digital capabilities to help deepen health insurance awareness and take financial protection to the last mile. The Academy seeks to elevate health insurance advisory from a transactional sales activity to a credible and specialised profession.

The Insurance Academy is a one-stop hub to learn, grow, and thrive in the digital-first insurance world. It will provide a detailed product training module which would help in recommending the right product to the customer based on their requirement and life-stage. It will additionally train advisors to handhold their customers during the moment of truth and deliver seamless claims experience, thus driving trust.

Rooted in Niva Bupa’s purpose of making quality healthcare accessible to every Indian, the Insurance Academy is designed to transform advisors into ‘Health Captains’ — trusted partners who educate, guide, and protect families through their health insurance journey. The initiative aligns with the company’s broader vision of creating a more inclusive and insurance-aware India, while celebrating the role of advisors through the philosophy of ‘Kaam Main Shaan Hai’ — taking pride and purpose in the work they do every day.

Speaking about the initiative, Ankur Kharbanda, Executive Director & Chief Business Officer, Niva Bupa Health Insurance said, “Health insurance advisory today needs to be a digital-first, capability-led profession. By launching the Niva Bupa Insurance Academy, we are investing in building trusted advisors who can guide customers through complex decisions with confidence. This is critical to advance India’s financial protection agenda. Our Academy will create digitally savvy advisors who are not just selling products — they are guiding families on health financial protection. This initiative aligns with IRDAI’s 2047 vision of Insurance for All and will help expand health insurance penetration across Bharat.”

The Insurance Academy will include structured modules on product knowledge, customer-first communication, digital tools, and claim-handling processes. The program blends classroom training with e-learning to ensure consistency and accessibility across geographies.

With this launch, Niva Bupa reaffirms its commitment to building a strong, future-ready advisor network that can bring the benefits of health insurance to every Indian, from metros to rural towns — closing the awareness gap and strengthening trust in insurance as a financial safety net.
