Netflix has announced the appointment of Dani Dudeck as its Chief Communications Officer, effective 12 January. In her new role, Dudeck will report directly to co-CEO Ted Sarandos, filling the leadership position that has remained open since the exit of Rachel Whetstone earlier this year.
Dudeck joins Netflix from Instacart, where she held the role of Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, leading communications and public policy initiatives. She brings extensive experience in corporate communications, having previously worked in senior roles at Zynga and MySpace.
Her appointment comes at a pivotal time for Netflix, as the company advances its proposed $82.7 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. According to media reports, co-CEOs Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters have reassured employees that they remain “confident” about obtaining regulatory clearance and addressing Paramount’s rival cash bid.
Netflix has indicated that it plans to preserve Warner Bros.’ existing operational framework, including its theatrical film business. Industry analysts suggest that if completed, the deal could have far-reaching implications for the global entertainment industry.
