Neha Sharma Katyal has taken on a new role as General Manager – Business Development, Agency at The Trade Desk, marking a major step forward in her already impressive digital advertising career.
Sharing the news via LinkedIn, Neha reflected on her impactful six-year stint at Disney+ Hotstar (now JioStar), where she played a central role in driving content partnerships, enhancing live sports engagement, and developing the platform’s broader ecosystem.
“After 6 incredible years across two seasons at Disney+ Hotstar, it’s time to hit pause on the stream and start a brand-new chapter,” she wrote. “This journey has been nothing short of a blockbuster.”
She credited industry veteran Ajit Varghese for introducing her to the nuances of agency partnerships, calling his mentorship both strategic and transformative.
In her new position at The Trade Desk, Katyal will focus on strengthening agency relationships and driving business growth through programmatic advertising solutions. She expressed excitement about exploring “the open internet and the world of programmatic,” emphasizing the evolving role of advertising as a medium of intelligent connection rather than interruption.
“The India story is expanding,” she added, “expressing gratitude to The Trade Desk’s leadership team including Tejinder Gill, Dhruv Dhawan, Simon Morgan, and Mitch Waters. “I’m energized by the possibilities of precision, transparency, and real-time decisioning.”
Katyal’s appointment reinforces The Trade Desk’s strategic focus on the Indian market—one of the fastest-growing digital economies in the world.
With a career that began in 2008, Katyal has worked with global powerhouses including Moneycontrol (Network18), BBC Worldwide, Twitter, and Spotify, bringing rich experience and a dynamic outlook to her new role.
