Meta has announced the promotion of Ankit Rihal to the position of Head – Global Partnerships, India. In his new role, Rihal will lead strategic partnerships across key sectors, further strengthening Meta’s engagement with creators, public figures, and entertainment entities in India.
Rihal’s journey at Meta has been marked by several impactful initiatives. As Head – Public Figures and Creator Partnerships, he spearheaded collaborations across entertainment, sports, fashion, and music, playing a vital role in shaping creator-focused strategies for the platform.
Under his leadership, Meta launched several noteworthy digital initiatives including ‘SocialForGood’, ‘LiveInYourLivingRoom’, and ‘Born on Instagram’, aimed at enhancing creator engagement and community impact. Rihal was also instrumental in the rollout of key Meta products in India, such as Reels, Instagram Stories, and Threads, all of which have played significant roles in evolving content consumption patterns in the country.
Before taking on his new role, Rihal led Meta’s public figures and creator partnerships vertical and previously served as Lead – Entertainment Partnerships (India). His broader experience includes leadership positions across the digital and entertainment space, including his role as Director – Product Management at Vuclip Inc., and strategic positions at Sony Entertainment Television and Reliance BIG Entertainment, where he focused on partner alliances and digital media strategies.
With this elevation, Rihal is expected to further bolster Meta’s commitment to empowering creators and deepening partnerships across the Indian digital ecosystem.
