JioStar Strengthens Leadership With David Zakkam As SVP – Analytics & Data Strategy

JioStar has further expanded its senior leadership bench with the appointment of David Zakkam as Senior Vice President – Analytics & Data Strategy. The announcement was made by Bharath in an internal communication, confirming that the company’s entire digital analytics organisation — including Veeran’s team — will now report to Zakkam.

In his new role, Zakkam is working closely with business, content, marketing, advertising, engineering, and product teams to deepen JioStar’s data-led decision-making and unlock new value across consumer and business ecosystems. His mandate focuses on driving impact through advanced analytics, stronger data culture, and strategic insight-generation.

With over 21 years of experience, Zakkam brings a strong track record in scaling analytics functions at some of the world’s leading technology companies. He previously led Uber’s Data and Applied Science team in India, steering growth across rides, delivery, and mobility, while also shaping early generative AI applications. His tenure at Meta saw him address major integrity challenges to protect millions of users globally. At Swiggy, he played a pivotal role as Vice President of Analytics, transforming the organisation’s approach to data and operational scale. He also held key positions at Mu Sigma, further building his foundation in data science.

Zakkam’s appointment underscores JioStar’s commitment to strengthening its analytics backbone and accelerating innovation across the organisation.
