JioStar Promotes Karthik Kailash To Vice President – Content Strategy & Planning (Sports)

JioStar has elevated Karthik Kailash to the role of Vice President – Content Strategy and Planning (Sports), marking a significant progression in his professional journey with the company. In his expanded mandate, he oversees initiatives that enhance sports content engagement across platforms, supports audience growth, enables monetisation through branded content integrations, manages FPC planning for 24 Star Sports channels, and leads digital content operations and publishing for sports on JioHotstar.

Kailash announced the development on LinkedIn, highlighting this milestone within the organisation.

Before stepping into this senior role, he served as Senior Director – Programming Strategy, Scheduling and Partnerships – Sports at JioStar from December 2021 to December 2025, contributing to strategic planning and content partnerships across the sports portfolio.

Prior to joining JioStar, he worked with Sony Pictures Networks India in Programming Strategy – Hindi GEC from January 2020 to December 2021 in Mumbai. His earlier tenure at Disney Star spanned more than four years, where he held roles such as Manager – Content Strategy, Sports (July 2017 to January 2020) and Assistant Manager – Programming, Sports (July 2015 to June 2017), playing a key role in insight-driven sports content planning.

Kailash began his career at CRISIL as a Senior Research Analyst – Automobile between May 2011 and June 2014 in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, where he executed end-to-end automobile market entry projects within the Customised Research division.

His new role at JioStar positions him to further drive strategic sports content planning, viewership growth, and digital expansion.
