Since joining JioCinema as Chief Revenue Officer in August 2024, Ishan has rapidly expanded his leadership across the JioStar ecosystem. In his new role, he will oversee the complete sports portfolio, including rights strategy, programming, partnerships, monetization, and operations. He will report directly to Kiran Thomas and work closely with Akash Ambani on strategic transformation initiatives and stakeholder relationships.
Ishan Chatterjee brings over 20 years of experience across digital media, consulting, and FMCG sectors. Prior to JioStar, he served as Managing Director of YouTube India, playing a key role in driving growth across reach, revenue, and creator engagement. Over a 13-year tenure at Google, he held several senior leadership roles across EMEA and APAC, contributing significantly to the company’s global expansion.
He began his career at McKinsey & Company and Hindustan Unilever, gaining strong foundations in business strategy and brand building. A graduate of The Wharton School and St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, Ishan brings a unique blend of strategic vision and operational depth to his new role.
As Chief Executive – Sports, Ishan Chatterjee will be at the helm of JioStar’s efforts to build a next-generation, digitally powered sports ecosystem that elevates live content, drives monetization, and deepens fan engagement across every touchpoint.
This leadership transition reinforces JioStar’s commitment to shaping the future of sports through innovation, technology, and scale.
