IIGC Bengaluru Chapter Draws Full House, Marks Major Milestone in India’s Influencer Economy

In a remarkable show of unity and industry support, the Indian Influencer Governing Council (IIGC) successfully hosted its 3rd City Chapter in Bengaluru. With over 100 industry professionals in attendance—many even standing to cheer—the event marked a significant step forward for the growing IIGC movement.

Founded on February 15, 2025, IIGC has rapidly evolved from a small initiative into a collective platform uniting brands, marketers, content creators, tech platforms, government bodies, and consumers to shape the future of ethical influencer marketing in India.

“It’s been an exhilarating 4 months, from a small idea among a few of us to now a full-fledged movement with amazing support from all corners of the industry,” said Dr. Kushal Sanghvi, who played a key role in organizing the event. “This meeting is just another step toward making India a leader in the creator economy.”

Key Announcements

Two important initiatives were officially launched during the event:

  • IIGC Taskforce – A dedicated unit to offer support, solutions, and guidelines for influencers in India.
  • IIGC Protect – A focused initiative addressing the mental health, well-being, and legal support of influencers.

Industry Voices and Recognition

The event featured sessions by key industry figures, including Aparajita Mukherjee, Gaurang T., Nikhil Sachdeva, and Rana Atheya, along with a case study by Tej Prakash Yadav (BBC) on creating social impact through influencers.

IIGC also acknowledged the contributions of its Board Advisors from Bengaluru: Anusha Shetty, Raja Peter, Smitha Hemmigae, Suman Pal, Varun S. Arora, and Taranjeet Kaur, among others.

In a heartfelt segment, content creators shared their journeys, challenges, and triumphs. The Council also launched its weekly influencer rankings, and monthly winners were felicitated with the first-ever IIGC Content Victories. A new tradition—World Influencer Day—was also announced to celebrate content creators globally.

“Meetings like these help us reconnect, build alliances, and drive growth,” added Dr. Sanghvi. “We’re only 1% of the way through this journey, and there’s so much more to accomplish.”

As the movement gathers pace, IIGC remains committed to building an ethical, transparent, and accountable influencer marketing ecosystem for India.
