Hitachi India has announced the appointment of N Venu as its new Managing Director, effective June 2, 2025. Venu will take on this responsibility in addition to his current roles as Managing Director and CEO of Hitachi Energy India and Region Head for South Asia at Hitachi Energy.
This leadership transition comes in the wake of Dr. Bharat Kaushal’s elevation to Executive Chairman of Hitachi India, effective April 1, 2025. Dr. Kaushal was the first Indian to serve as the Managing Director of Hitachi India.
In his new position, N Venu will be responsible for spearheading the company’s expansion and transformation in line with Hitachi Group’s long-term management strategy, Inspire 2027. One of his key mandates will be to unify the operations of the 28 Hitachi Group companies in India to create customer value and accelerate digital innovation under the company’s Lumada business.
With nearly four decades of industry experience and a proven track record of leadership, Venu has been at the helm of Hitachi Energy India since its establishment in 2019. He also served as Chairman of the Karnataka chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for the year 2024–25.
Under his guidance, Hitachi aims to expand its footprint in diverse sectors across India—ranging from rail, digital infrastructure, and energy to financial inclusion, education, and healthcare—transforming India into a global hub for innovative, digital-first solutions.
