Helen Rhodes Appointed Chief Creative Officer at Grey London

Grey London announced the appointment of Helen Rhodes as its new Chief Creative Officer, a move that further strengthens the agency’s creative leadership. Helen, who joins from BBH London, will oversee the agency’s creative and design teams, working closely with leadership to guide the studio’s strategy and direction. Known for her impressive track record, Helen brings a wealth of experience and a history of award-winning campaigns to the role.

In her previous position at BBH London, Helen helmed the iconic “Girl vs Cancer” campaign, which challenged the stigma surrounding sex and cancer. She also won a BAFTA for her work on the BBC’s Tokyo 2020 Olympics campaign and contributed to the successful return of “The Colonel” for KFC at Wieden + Kennedy Portland. Throughout her career, Helen has consistently delivered exceptional work that has earned recognition at major international awards shows, including Cannes, D&AD, The One Show, and the Clios.

Helen’s appointment follows a stellar year for Grey London, which saw the agency win several highly contested accounts, including Tourism Ireland and Energy Networks Association. Her creative expertise and leadership are expected to further elevate the agency’s standing in the industry.

Grey London President, Conrad Persons, commented:

“As a creatively led business, it was essential that we found someone with unrivalled creative talent, who was also hungry to take on a wider leadership role within our business. Known for her brilliant talent, non-traditional thinking, award-winning ideas and industry-leading work, it was clear from our first conversation that she would be a great fit. Helen has both the talent and temperament we were looking for. We’re absolutely delighted she has decided to join us.”

“As soon as I met the team, I was hit by their relentless enthusiasm, passion, and drive, and I knew there was something very special at Grey which I just had to be a part of,” shared Helen. “If you have the right mix of people then anything is possible, and I can’t wait to further enrich a creative culture at Grey that wants to make the most interesting and innovative work on the planet.”

Gabriel Schmitt, Global Chief Creative Officer, Grey, shared:

“Grey London deserves a Chief Creative Officer who can match our ambition, and Helen is that person. Just look at the campaigns she’s created and led, the agencies she’s helped shape – her experience is unparalleled. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have her join our mission.”

Helen is also committed to diversity and inclusion in the creative industry. At BBH, she led The Barn, a creative training program that nurtured and supported underrepresented talent. She is passionate about fostering the next generation of creative minds and bringing fresh perspectives to the industry.

At Grey London, Helen will be responsible for overseeing the agency’s full client portfolio, including major brands like Haleon, The Coca-Cola Company, Vodafone Ireland, Volvo, and the newly won Tourism Ireland account, among others. With her leadership, Grey London is poised for an even more successful future, creating cutting-edge campaigns that push the boundaries of creativity.
