Digital wealth advisory platform Endowus has joined forces with customer engagement platform Twilio to enhance security measures, ensuring a safer and more reliable experience for its users.
To safeguard its ecosystem and meet regulatory standards, Endowus integrated Twilio’s advanced security solutions, focusing on minimizing risks associated with fraudulent activities and bot sign-ups. A key implementation was Twilio Verify, which enforces SMS OTP verification for critical user actions such as logging in and making withdrawals. This additional security layer ensures that only verified users can access and transact on the platform.
Recognizing the needs of international clients, Endowus also introduced WhatsApp OTPs via Twilio Verify, allowing seamless and secure account access from anywhere in the world. This has proven especially valuable for clients traveling overseas who may face challenges receiving SMS OTPs.
Further enhancing its security framework, Endowus deployed Twilio Verify Fraud Guard, a tool designed to detect and block fraudulent SMS schemes. It proactively monitors verification patterns, such as the success rate of OTP verifications, to identify and address potential threats early. A sudden drop in verification rates, for example, could indicate compromised credentials, prompting swift investigation and action.
Looking ahead, Endowus is exploring the implementation of Twilio Verify Push—a solution that enables users to confirm their identity via secure push notifications, adding another layer of protection to their accounts.
Deepak Sarda, chief technology officer at Endowus, said,
“We are constantly reviewing the security and privacy concerns facing our clients today, and it’s essential that we do all we can to mitigate these risks for them. We’ve been able to use Twilio’s standout solutions to significantly strengthen Endowus’ security safeguards, ensuring our clients can engage with our platform worry-free.”
Meanwhile, Robert Woolfrey, vice president of communications for APJ at Twilio, commented,
“Investors are increasingly selective about who they entrust their capital to, so fostering assurance is key. This requires a non-negotiable commitment to a robust security posture. At the same time, businesses still need to ensure their user experience is as seamless as possible. With the right tools in place, there’s no longer a need to compromise security for quality – you can engage your customers immersively, meaningfully, and securely all at once. We’re proud to have partnered with Endowus to achieve this.”
