Diageo India has announced the appointment of Aanandita Dutta as its new Vice President – Marketing and Category Head, bringing on board nearly two decades of marketing leadership across global and Indian markets.
Dutta moves to Diageo India after her impactful stint at Pizza Hut India, where, as Chief Marketing Officer, she successfully repositioned the quick service restaurant chain as a “Younger and Everyday QSR”. Her work focused on value-led strategies, digital-first innovation, and youth-driven campaigns that helped strengthen the brand’s connect with millennial and Gen-Z audiences.
A seasoned marketer, Dutta began her career at Unilever, rising to become Global Brand Director, where she shaped brand equity, purpose, and positioning while driving innovation and communication strategies across diverse consumer markets. She has also held key leadership roles at GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare and Whirlpool, working on marquee brands such as Horlicks, Sensodyne, Whirlpool Refrigerators, Lipton, Kissan, and Taaza.
Speaking about her new role, industry experts note that Dutta’s extensive experience in brand building, category growth, and consumer engagement will be pivotal in strengthening Diageo India’s marketing strategy. With her proven ability to scale iconic brands, she is expected to play a crucial role in driving Diageo India’s growth vision in the coming years.
