Cipla Ltd has announced the appointment of Achin Gupta as its Managing Director and Global Chief Executive Officer (Designate), effective 1 April 2026. Gupta currently holds the position of Global Chief Operating Officer at the company.
In his upcoming role, Gupta will focus on accelerating the company’s global expansion strategy, enhancing operational excellence, and advancing innovation across its therapeutic portfolio.
With over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Gupta brings extensive leadership expertise to the position. Prior to joining Cipla, he spent more than eight years at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, marking his second stint with the organization after an earlier tenure from 2004 to 2012. His career also includes key roles at Abbott Laboratories and A.T. Kearney.
