Cheil India COO Mandeep Sharma Steps Down

In a significant development, Mandeep Sharma has stepped down from his role as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Cheil India, marking another key leadership transition within the Samsung-owned advertising agency.

Sharma joined Cheil India in mid-2024, initially overseeing the Samsung account, one of the agency’s largest and most strategic partnerships, before being elevated to the role of COO. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in strengthening the agency’s client servicing, digital integration, and strategic delivery across creative and technology-led functions.

A seasoned marketing professional, Mandeep Sharma brings with him extensive experience in digital strategy, CRM, and engagement marketing, having held senior leadership positions at McCann Worldgroup’s MRM, JWT’s Thompson Connect, and Ogilvy One. His expertise lies in bridging data-driven marketing with brand storytelling, helping brands scale customer engagement and digital transformation.

Sharma’s exit comes amid a broader leadership reshuffle at Cheil India. Earlier this year, Chief Growth Officer Neeraj Bassi exited the company after spearheading integrated growth initiatives across creative, media, and activation under the Cheil X model. Around the same time, Sanjeev Jasani, who served as COO for Cheil India and Southwest Asia, also moved on after nearly a decade of leadership at the agency.

As of now, Cheil India has not issued an official statement regarding Sharma’s departure, and details of his next professional move remain undisclosed. The leadership changes underscore a period of transformation for the agency as it continues to evolve within India’s dynamic advertising and marketing ecosystem.
