Avinash Kaul Steps Down As Network18 Broadcast CEO After 12-Year Tenure

Avinash Kaul, Chief Executive Officer of Network18 (Broadcast) and Managing Director of A+E Networks, has resigned from his position, sources close to the matter have confirmed.

A veteran media leader with over 26 years of industry experience, Kaul spent nearly 12 years at Network18 Media, where he was instrumental in expanding and strengthening the group’s television and content portfolio. His tenure is widely credited with driving innovation, strategic growth, and operational scale across broadcast businesses.

In August last year, Kaul’s mandate was broadened to include accelerating direct revenue growth across television, digital, and print platforms. Alongside this, he was responsible for reinforcing ratings performance and overseeing key operational verticals across the network’s TV and print operations. In this role, he reported to Rahul Joshi, Managing Director, Network18.

Sources suggest that Network18’s leadership framework remains stable, with individual CEOs continuing to head their respective business verticals. There are currently no indications of immediate organisational changes following Kaul’s departure.

Before joining Network18, Kaul served as CEO of the television business at BCCL and held senior leadership roles at Sahara One and NDTV. Over the years, his industry contributions have earned him several accolades, including the CEO of the Year award at the exchange4media News Broadcasting Awards (ENBA).

Network18 declined to comment on the development at the time of publishing. Widely respected across the media and broadcasting ecosystem, Kaul’s next professional move is being closely watched by industry peers.
