Anita Kotwani Steps Down as Chief Client Officer at dentsu South Asia

dentsu South Asia has confirmed that Anita Kotwani has stepped down from her role as Chief Client Officer, marking the end of a significant chapter in the network’s leadership journey.

Kotwani joined dentsu in 2020 as CEO of Carat India, guiding the agency through a transformative period defined by evolving client expectations, rapid digital adoption, and heightened competitive pressures. Her leadership helped strengthen Carat’s position and reinforce dentsu’s media ambitions across the region.

In March 2023, she was elevated to CEO, Media South Asia, where she oversaw Carat, iProspect, dentsu X, Posterscope, and Amplifi. In this role, Kotwani partnered closely with global and regional teams to reshape dentsu’s media strategy into a more integrated, digital-first ecosystem.

Earlier this year, Kotwani stepped into the Chief Client Officer role, expanding her mandate to group-level client partnerships across Creative, Media, CXM, Brand Experience, Retail, and Sports-Gaming-Entertainment (SGE). Her remit focused on enhancing integrated solutions and driving growth across diverse markets.

Before joining dentsu, Kotwani spent over 15 years at Mindshare India, taking on senior leadership roles and eventually heading national new business. She was instrumental in winning large mandates and managing high-impact accounts across FMCG, entertainment, BFSI, and diversified sectors. Her earlier experience at Initiative (Lintas Media Group) included managing marquee clients such as Unilever, Videocon, and Bombay Dyeing.

Kotwani began her career at Dainik Bhaskar Group, where she contributed to market launches in North India, focusing on sales strategy, market expansion, and data-led planning.

Repeated attempts to reach Anita Kotwani and Harsha Razdan for comment remained unanswered at the time of publication.
