Havas Media Network has been reappointed by Emirates Airlines as its global media planning and buying partner, reclaiming the business from IPG Mediabrands’ UM London. The mandate is valued at approximately $190 million annually, marking a significant milestone for Havas Media in the global aviation sector.
Emirates previously partnered with Havas Media from 2013 to 2020 before shifting to IPG Mediabrands. Following a competitive review launched earlier this year, which initially scoped around $126 million in billings and invited all six major holding groups, Havas emerged as the preferred choice over incumbents IPG Mediabrands and WPP.
The transition of Emirates’ global media account to Havas Media Network is expected to roll out in the coming months, strengthening Havas’ footprint in the airline and travel sector.
This win comes on the heels of Havas’ recent formation of Horizon Global, a joint venture with Horizon Media that combines approximately $20 billion in billings. While Horizon Global operates independently, the Emirates account win underscores Havas’ growing influence and capabilities in global media management.
