Reliance Retail Acquires Kelvinator to Boost Consumer Durables Presence in India

In a strategic move to expand its footprint in the consumer durables market, Reliance Retail has acquired iconic home appliance brand Kelvinator. The acquisition is set to strengthen Reliance’s position in the premium appliances segment and accelerate its growth in this category.

Kelvinator, renowned for introducing electric refrigeration to homes and once a staple in Indian households through the 1970s and 80s with its famous tagline “The Coolest One,” continues to be associated with reliability, value, and long-standing consumer trust.

Through this acquisition, Reliance aims to merge Kelvinator’s global heritage in home appliances with its own extensive retail infrastructure and distribution reach. The goal is to make high-quality, innovative appliances more accessible to Indian families.

According to the company, integrating Kelvinator into its portfolio will enhance consumer engagement and unlock long-term opportunities in India’s rapidly evolving home appliances market.
