Compass Communications has been appointed as the official communications partner for the Guwahati-based non-profit Foundation for Culture, Arts and Literature (FOCAL).
The partnership commenced with Compass Communications supporting the promotion of the Dibrugarh University International Literature Festival (DUILF), organised by FOCAL in collaboration with Dibrugarh University. The festival recently concluded its third edition and continues to grow as a prominent platform that connects global literary voices with the cultural landscape of Northeast India.
The four-day festival celebrated literature, ideas, and cultural dialogue, featuring participation from more than 150 writers, poets, and thinkers representing 25 countries. Among the notable participants were internationally recognised authors such as Ann Morgan and Maria Reimondez. The event also hosted distinguished Indian personalities including filmmaker Jahnu Barua, former Army Chief Manoj Mukund Naravane, and former Foreign Secretary Krishnan Srinivasan. The festival drew nearly 12,000 literature enthusiasts, reflecting its growing influence since its earlier editions.
Commenting on the collaboration, Rahul Jain, Curator and Chief Coordinator of DUILF, said, “DUILF has grown into a meaningful cultural platform that brings global literary conversations to the Northeast, especially for young readers and students. We were delighted to collaborate with Compass Communications to further strengthen DUILF’s voice and reach and now look forward to working with them on our numerous initiatives for the Foundation.”
Rohan Srinivasan, Co-Founder of Compass Communications, added, “DUILF was an important cultural event that places Northeast India firmly on the global literary map and we were glad to be part of it. We are now excited to partner with the FOCAL team and look forward to amplifying their numerous initiatives and events.”
